The New Zealand Art Show Gets Ready for 2012
Preparations for the New Zealand Art Show 2012 are well underway and dates for next year's show have been set: August 2 -5, 2012.
On November 1, the New Zealand Affordable Art Trust (NZAAT) marked this stage of its operations with the launch of a new-look website, early artist applications, reduced application fees and early-bird ticket specials.
Carla Russell, Executive Director for the NZAAT, says that the website -www.artshow.co.nz - is aimed at both artists and non-artists and will be the one-stop, go-to-spot for anyone interested in the show.
'We recognise that a vast number of consumers engage on-line, therefore it's imperative that we ensure that the on-line facilities we provide will address the needs of all visitors to our site.
'The new design is crisp, clear and user friendly and the site's features include facilities for artist applications, ticket purchases, membership applications, photo galleries and regular updates about the Trust and its operations.
'We're delighted with the new site and we've already received very postive feedback with everyone stating that navigating the site is nice and easy.'
Artist applications are now open, two months earlier than usual, and application fees have been reduced from $35 to $30, with an early-bird discount for those who apply early - only $20 if paid before 15 January 2012. Artists can apply via the website with the easy-to-use on-line application form.
Tickets to the Show
Tickets to the show are also on sale earlier than usual with an early-bird special for show day tickets in place - $5 per show day ticket if purchased by March 31, 2012. The usual show day ticket price is $10 of $7 (concession). Children 12 and under can attend at no charge.
Become a Friend
A very popular way of being involved with the New Zealand Art Show is by becoming a Friend of the NZAAT. Some of the benefits associated with a Friend membership include: invitation to the launch of the 2012 show at the Museum Hotel and access to the Gala Evening prior to the official opening.
The Gala Evening, to be held August 2, signals the official opening of the show. This is a sophisticated and fun evening with fine wine, delicious food, live entertainment and all art for sale - nothing more than $5,000. Tickets to this event are highly sought after and usually sell out well in advance of the show.
